Sogetsu lerares Mariëlle van Strijp geeft op verschillende locaties ikebana-lessen. Op verzoek verzorgt ze workshops, demonstraties of lezingen over ikebana.

Sogetsu ikebana

In 1927 werd de Sogetsu school in Tokyo opgericht door Sofu Teshigahara, een beeldhouwer met een zekere internationale faam.  
Mariëlle geeft sinds 2016 les en heeft les gekregen van verschillende Sogetsu leraren in Japan, Nederland en andere landen in Europa.

Mariëlle heeft een diploma als Industrieel Vormgever aan de A.I.V.E (huidige Design Academy) in Eindhoven. De combinatie van natuurlijke materialen en vormgeving in de Sogetsu school vindt ze sterk.
Deze ikebana school spreekt haar aan, omdat ze voorop loopt qua vormgeving met natuurlijke materialen. Het gebruik van andere dan verse materialen, waaronder papier, kunststoffen, metalen, textiel, etc. maakt de Sogetsu school uniek en voorloper in moderne vormgeving
